Sweat It Out: Stay In for the Long Haul

You are hereby granted permission to

Sweat It Out

You can stay in it for the long haul and give whatever it takes to get to where–or what–you want to be, on your own terms.

Ever feel like you sit too much, eat too much, drink too much, spend too much? In my case, I’ll add that I also sometimes feel I talk too much. I’ve heard some people give too much, love too much or want too much.

If you’re anything like me, you’re no stranger to guilty remorse. There’s a general sense that we should be more measured with our choices. More disciplined about our doing.

But that isn’t this.

This is about our sense of abandon. About intensity of commitment, which can be as important as intention.

And one simple system for measuring intensity is taking a look at how much we sweat.
There’s no need to avoid the perspiration that goes along with the inspiration.

You’re allowed to hustle, rush even, when you need to take things down to the wire.
You can carry a heavy load and stay the course when you know it will make a difference.
You have permission to push. Push limits. Push yourself. Push past plateaus.

Get a little dirty. Take a bit of a risk.

Because life isn’t always smooth and contained, and you don’t always have to be cool and dry.

Sure, we love it when you calm down, free up and live happy. But don’t let that stop you from heating things up and sweating out your troubles and your toxins. Go for that rosy glow that can shine onto your view of the day.
